Replace The Remote Batteries
Dead batteries are the single most common reason openers "stop working." Try the wall button too. If the wall button works but the remote doesn't, it's just the remote.
Look For The Lock Button
Most wall panels have a lock or vacation mode button. If it's been pressed, the opener won't respond to remotes at all. Hold the button for a few seconds to toggle it off.
Opener Hums But Door Won't Move
If the opener runs but the door doesn't budge, you almost certainly have a broken spring. Stop running the opener immediately. It can burn out the motor.

Why is my garage door opener not working?
